Following the acquisition of Alexander Dennis Limited, the focus shifted to leverage, free cash flow durability, and downside exposure as transit demand softened. Rather than treating the transaction in isolation, the work reframed it within industry cyclicality and balance sheet resilience. The conclusion was that increased leverage and execution risk outweighed potential synergies, supporting an exit recommendation to protect shareholder value before the cycle turned further.
